There are so many stories that came forth when Artisan Resident Artist Amy introduced the topic of fish, fishing, boats, and fishing holes. There were many memories that our residents shared and some terrific fishing tales!
Our Artisan Resident Artist, Amy, is able to find inspiration for art sessions in so many ways. She recently discovered a field of daisies blooming in her garden with a few poppies ready to pop, which then turned into art inspiration at some recent sessions.
Close your eyes and think of the visions of what is blooming right now all across the state of Wisconsin - this theme is always a favorite of Artisan artists when the come to art sessions at this time of year. Visions of garden, lilacs, tulips, and violets, plus bleeding hearts and lily-of-the-valley are brought to life by our resident artists.
Springtime and Easter are the popular topics for conversation at this time of year - the upcoming holiday gets lot of attention. Memories came forth from resident artists - such as of getting all dressed up and making up big baskets....wrapping presents, putting on special decorations....decorating eggs and then hiding them.
March is a time when many long for and look forward to the upcoming seasonal change - warm weather and spring cannot come quickly enough! Art is and incredibly joyous part of life, and one of the most wonderful things about art is that it is welcoming to the newbie, the expert, or to the artist who has put aside tools for a while, only to pick them up again after a long hiatus. Artists of all ages and abilities are welcome (and encouraged!) to participate in art sessions at Artisan communities, and to create whatever their heart desires!
January can be a very cold, dreary, and long month - so what better way to beat any "January blues" that might strike with some gorgeous and inspired artwork? Artisan Artist in Residence Amy grew up in St. Louis, and shared stories about the botanical garden there and its annual orchid show which is held this time of year. The focus of Artisan residents turned to bright, colorful flowers - with a nod to favorites from the spring and summer months.
It's that wonderful time of the year at Artisan, when the excitement for the holiday season is in the air, and it is the season for giving, sharing, and CREATING wonderful artwork! The gorgeous creations shine through as our residents think back over their lives and remember holidays they have shared with family and loved ones.
Art sessions throughout much of November at Artisan are all about Thanksgiving - with a bit of autumn landscapes thrown into the mix. Artisan Artisan in Residence Amy brought many wonderful items to help residents recall memories of Thanksgiving from years ago - pictures of the first Thanksgiving, plus photos of turkeys, Thanksgiving greetings, cornucopias, gourds, pumpkins, and Indian corn served as great inspiration.
It's a favorite time of year for many residents - the autumn season that showcases the gorgous change of colors for the season.
